The startup heyPatient has developed an app that enables its customers to handle the entire patient interaction via an app. The app acts as a digital health companion, so to speak, and offers its customers attractive use cases. The founders have designed the patient journey of the future with the heyPatient service.
Digitizing processes in healthcare
The founders of heyPatient had the idea of developing a patient app. Their aim was to save costs in the healthcare sector, automate administration and thereby increase patient satisfaction. The app developers want to involve patients directly in the processes – appointments, forms and notices are published directly on the app. This automates and digitizes the process.
Hospital stay gave the founders the idea
The idea was triggered by the broken arm of one of the heyPatient founders’ children. During the entire hospital stay, they noticed many things that they wanted to improve with the help of an app. In the meantime, the fracture has healed well, and the vision was born: “People and their health should be the focus.” With great motivation and drive, the two founders worked on their mission: “With heyPatient, patients always have an overview of treatment appointments, health data, important information and individual instructions from their doctor.”
After a 3-day design challenge with sprints, interviews, storyboard, designs, prototyping and UserTesting, the heyPatient prototype was born in July 2019. Since then, the team has been steadily developing the product and requirement in collaboration with patient:ing and care providers. In September 2019, they founded heyPatient AG.
This year, the startup has taken another important step and is now a new tenant at Technopark Winterthur since the beginning of October.
