As of autumn 2023, Thomas Lüem Partner AG has a new office in Technopark Winterthur headed by Silvio Zweidler. The company has been active in electrical planning for over 20 years and integrates modern technologies or concepts such as PV systems or charging stations into its service portfolio. They are at TPW to ensure that they stay ahead of time.
Thomas Lüem Partner AG opened its fifth branch at Technopark Winterthur last autumn. The company specialises in electrical and overall planning, building automation, fire protection, technical coordination, photovoltaics and electromobility. Under the management of Silvio Zweidler, the company is expanding its activities in the north-east region of Switzerland. For branch manager Silvio Zweidler, it was clear from the outset why Technopark became the branch headquarters: “As a modern company, we want to be constantly involved with innovations and new technologies. With the start-ups at Technopark Winterthur, we are at the centre of this.”
Family business with a vision
In the more than two decades since it was founded, Thomas Lüem Partner AG has witnessed and actively driven numerous developments. Although the core business is still based on electrical planning, this has changed drastically, says Silvio Zweidler. Thomas Lüem Partner AG, headquartered in Zug, has kept pace with developments, not least thanks to CEO Dominique Urech and the founding trio of Thomas Lüem, Beat Keusch and Rafael Stoop. The company was an early mover, especially when it came to renewable technologies such as PV systems or charging stations for electromobility. Even technologies that are only in the starting blocks, such as hydrogen, are already an area of focus for the company. For this reason, Silvio Zweidler is regularly in dialogue with start-ups at the Technopark that could perhaps bring the next big and important innovation to the market.
From installer to branch manager
Silvio Zweidler has been with Thomas Lüem Partner AG for over eight years. Prior to this, he not only completed an apprenticeship as an electrician, but also continued his education in this field, training as a master technician and in management consultancy. Today, he manages the branch in Winterthur with one other employee. Although the local team is small, the entire company with all its branches is closer than ever thanks to modern communication tools such as Microsoft Teams.
Silvio Zweidler’s most important task now is to build up the branch. At the top of his to-do list is the expansion of the network within the region of Winterthur. Winterthur is facing major development steps. According to the branch manager, the expansion of the Winterthur Hegi district offers challenges and opportunities for which Thomas Lüem Partner AG wants to offer practical solutions in line with its mission statement. Finding specialised personnel is also of great importance for the entire company. This applies both to people who want to do an apprenticeship in the areas and to staff who are already well trained. “They are very often headhunted and hard to find on the open market. That’s why we want to position ourselves better in this regard.”
In the coming years, Thomas Lüem Partner AG will continue to develop and utilise innovations. Studies with partners and projects are also an essential part of its further evolution, says Silvio Zweidler. In any case, he will be at the Technopark and looking forward to many exciting discussions that will not only improve his company, but could also mean progress for the entire industry.
