Podcastschmiede has launched the first three episodes of a Swiss-German podcast on the topic of dementia. In Chopfsach, dementia expert Judith Kronbach talks to sufferers, relatives and experts. Further episodes are scheduled every 14 days.
Podcastschmiede is expanding its offering with a free podcast on the topic of dementia. The company, which is based in Technopark Winterthur, announced in a press release that it aims to educate and encourage people. The first three episodes of Chopfsach have already been launched, with further episodes to follow at fortnightly intervals.
The Chopfsach podcast is hosted by dementia expert Judith Kronbach. The trained carer and gerontologist talks to those affected and their relatives and interviews experts. ‘Listeners should receive well-founded information on dementia in an easy and simple way,’ Kronbach is quoted as saying in the press release. ‘We want to give them a new approach to dementia with Chopfsach and counteract the taboo.’ Kronbach is supported in the podcast by Verena Bossard from the Basel Brain Theatre.
According to Podcastschmiede, the new Swiss-German podcast fills a gap that previously existed in Switzerland. ‘With Chopfsach, we address the Swiss system and describe life situations that people in Switzerland can identify with,’ explains Franziska Engelhardt, producer at Podcastschmiede. ‘We made a conscious decision to use Swiss German because that’s how our beak grew and the stories go straight to the heart.’
The Podcastschmiede is supported by a number of partners in the production of Chopfsach. For the first season, the Plattform Mäander foundation is the main sponsor. The Paulie and Fridolin Düblin Foundation, Lundbeck and private donors are also named as supporters in the press release. ce/hs
