Technopark Winterthur has hosted the final of the ZHAW Sustainability Booster 2024. This year's three start-ups with the best sustainable business models are LivXp, Asantech and Sanetics.
Three start-ups have emerged as winners from the grand final of the ZHAW Sustainability Booster 2024: LivXP AG took first place ahead of Asantech and Sanetics AG. According to a press release, this funding programme of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) demonstrated ‘the incredible creativity and commitment of the participants in tackling pressing environmental and social challenges’.
A total of 13 teams had the chance to win with their presentations. To take part in the programme, at least one person per team must be studying or working at the ZHAW or be a member of a ZHAW start-up initiative, such as the Runway Incubator.
LivXP from Lausanne in 1st place builds a bridge between fans and sports clubs. Its platform facilitates dialogue and seamless collaboration. It also creates an online marketplace for fans that simultaneously opens up new sources of revenue for sports companies. In addition to a reliable business model, 60 per cent of all goods in lotteries are reportedly given away so that people without financial means also have the opportunity to participate.
Asantech in second place has developed a therapy that eliminates harmful bacteria without antibiotics. The focus here is on women’s health. ‘The start-up’s innovative approach addresses the urgent need for solutions that minimise side effects and support long-term health outcomes,’ said the jury.
Sanetics AG from Winterthur in third place integrates the latest Internet of Things and computer vision technology to improve the distribution of medication in hospitals, nursing homes and retirement homes, with the aim of increasing safety, compliance and transparency. According to the information provided, up to 20,000 hospitalisations due to incorrect medication could be avoided in Switzerland alone. ce/mm
