Sympheny completes start-up program at ESRI

Urban Sympheny AG has completed ESRI's three-year start-up program. During this time, Sympheny has integrated ESRI's geodata technology into its services. These are designed to support the planning and management of energy systems using digital twins.

Sympheny has announced that it has reached a milestone in its partnership with California-based company ESRI and its Swiss subsidiary in Zurich: Founded in 2020 and based at Technopark Winterthur, Sympheny has officially completed ESRI’s three-year start-up program.

The “invaluable support, including all resources and opportunities” received during this time made it possible to integrate the global company’s geodata technology into its own energy system solutions. “From optimizing urban energy planning to improving spatial decision-making, the ESRI ecosystem has been instrumental in driving our innovation forward,” said Sympheny.

Sympheny offers digital twin-based services for energy planners and managers, enabling them to achieve their sustainability goals “with minimal costs and maximum confidence,” according to the start-up’s self-description. “Digital twin + algorithms = intelligent services.” To this end, Sympheny provides its subscription-based SaaS platform, on which users can develop, manage, and continuously use their digital twin of the energy system.

In the next phase, the partnership between Sympheny and ESRI will be deepened with new joint projects. Sympheny also says it is “proud to have ESRI as an observer in our GOES project.” GOES is an EU Horizon 2020 project that researches innovative geodata solutions for energy planning. It is coordinated by the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa) in Dübendorf, Zurich, and involves eight partners from five EU countries and the US.

In addition, according to the announcement, Sympheny is also looking forward to continuing its collaboration with the Urban ArcGIS team, ESRI’s web-based 3D solution for urban planning projects. Sympheny is particularly keen to promote the topic of energy. ce/mm
