Since April of this year, Gergey Rüegg and his team have been taking care of the "physical well-being" of the TECHNOPARK community.
This spring, the gastro management of the bistro at TECHNOPARK Winterthur changed. The wave.catering handed over the helm to Mimicus GmbH. At the last Durscht am Dunnschtig event, the official opening was celebrated. With fine appetizers, beer and various delicacies, the Mimicus team spoiled the guests present.
Gergey Rüegg, founder of Mimicus, brings with him an exciting career. Until August 2022, he was Managing Director of Connyland in Lipperswil, which includes “CONNY-LAND” and the “Weihnachtszirkus Conelli” in Zurich. Previously, he had headed the Sales and Marketing division of the Conelli Christmas Circus.
Enthusiastically into a new phase of his life
He then founded an advertising agency with a partner – and when he heard (rather by chance) that the bistro at TECHNOPARK Winterthur was to be re-staffed – he was immediately hooked on the idea. Enthusiasm had always been one of his strengths – and so he decided at the beginning of 2023 to found a new company and to take over the bistro operation at TPW as of April.
An inspiring ability
Our new operator is thus also a startup, and like other startup tenants, must work out its USPs and build customer relationships. This should be accomplished with adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The company name was inspired by the octopus Mimicus, which can adapt its color and shape to the respective environment. Mimicus GmbH also wants to offer tailor-made solutions in order to satisfy the needs of its customers in the best possible way.
The way to more simplicity at noon
Thus, they changed their offer already in the first weeks to take into account the wishes of the bistro guests. Currently, there are two menus daily: a meat option – and now also a vegan dish every day. Rüegg wants to convince his customers with a simple offer. The lunchtime meal is intended to make life easier for his guests, so that at least during the lunch break they can recover from the many decisions that have to be made day after day.
