The software company tailorfast simplifies and optimises order processes for SMEs. This should not only put an end to piles of paper, but also create customised solutions that will support companies in the long run beyond digitalisation.
Sacha Dolski and Florian Huonder and their software company tailorfast have been based at Technopark Winterthur since October 2023. The two IT experts have made it their mission to make order processing easier for companies of all kinds using customised software. The two long-time friends founded their company in 2015. Initially, they offered their programming skills to external partners on a contract basis. But right from the start, they wanted to create their own product that they could continue to develop. The tailorfast software toolbox was born.
Customised thanks to modular system
While the two founders Sacha Dolski and Florian Huonder were setting up their company, they realised that many organisations were still using analogue systems for order entry. In addition, order processing in particular is a system that is linked to many other systems in a company. This led to the idea of digitising these processes. To ensure this, they have developed their own software. However, this is not a finished product that is sold, but enables the two IT specialists to customise software for their customers using a modular system. This allows them to reduce development time and costs enormously while still creating a customised system.
Offering solutions instead of selling skills
The two founders put a lot of care into communicating their offering. They were looking for a common language in which they could talk to their target group about challenges in their day-to-day business and corporate processes. The term order processing emerged from this and has often laid the foundation for conversations ever since. Essentially, Florian Huonder and Sacha Dolski programme everything their customers need. «Our work as developers hasn’t actually changed since the company was founded, but instead of our skills, we now offer specific solutions to a common challenge,» says co-founder Florian Huonder. This has helped the company to build up a sizeable customer base in the meantime. Nevertheless, the two entrepreneurs want to further strengthen their sales and services.
Long friendship and mutual philosophy
Sacha Dolski and Florian Huonder met during their apprenticeship in the BMS and also studied software engineering together. Since then, their paths have not only crossed in their private lives, they have also repeatedly crossed paths in business. The two even worked together at a company. It was during this time that their corporate philosophy was significantly shaped. «It’s really important to us that we treat our customers fairly and transparently. For example, we emphasise the importance of showing them the development costs clearly and comprehensibly right from the start», says Florian Huonder. The two entrepreneurs also see thinking along with their customers and putting themselves in their customers’ shoes as a major strength and an advantage over their competitors.
tailorfast is set to grow both in terms of personnel and structure in the future. «We want to tackle larger projects and will certainly need more hands to help us achieve this,» says co-founder Florian Huonder. The major topic for the near future, however, is the increased distribution of their offer.
