The first half of the year went very well for Swiss startups: According to the half-year update of the Swiss Venture Capital Report, 2.6 billion Swiss francs were invested, with 13 financing rounds alone amounting to more than 50 million Swiss francs - as many as in the entire year 2021.
The Swiss Venture Capital Report Update H1 2022 covers investments in Swiss startups in the first six months of 2022.
However, uncertainty about the impact of inflation, fears of a recession and falling share prices outweigh the concerns in the coming months. In addition to an analysis of the past, the update also includes a survey by SECA on the future. A total of 80 Swiss investors responded. 60% expect total invested capital to fall by up to 25% over the next 12 months in view of the difficult environment. In their opinion, the slump in late-stage rounds is likely to be particularly severe.
The Swiss Venture Capital Report is the reference publication for investments in Swiss start-ups. The annual report provides an analysis of financing rounds, a listing of investments and an overview of the most important exits.
