The RUNWAY Startup Incubator, Startup Campus and the ZHAW Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften have launched the application phase for the Energy & Environment Accelerator 2025-2026. This programme is looking for Swiss startups in the fields of energy and the environment that contribute to sustainable transformation with innovative solutions. With targeted coaching, valuable industry contacts and practical investor preparation, the funding programme supports selected teams on their path to scaling.
The Accelerator is aimed at young companies whose business models make a measurable contribution to a more sustainable future – for example in the areas of renewable energies, the circular economy or climate protection. Participants benefit from a combination of individual support and intensive networking.
Coaching for a strong foundation
The programme offers access to the infrastructure of Technopark Winterthur, where the RUNWAY Incubator is located. In addition to using the working environment, the start-ups receive 1:1 coaching tailored to their needs from experienced experts and industry insiders. The Accelerator also enables participation in renowned partner events such as the Energy Startup Day, the Sustainability Booster and the Smart Energy Party – ideal opportunities to gain visibility and expand strategic contacts.
A central element is the ten-day Investment Readiness Programme, which takes place one evening a week over a period of ten weeks. The teams are specifically prepared for discussions with investors. A pitch event in spring 2026 will be the highlight of the programme, where the start-ups will present their ideas to an expert audience of investors, companies and public partners – with the chance to win attractive prizes and collaborations.
Criteria for sustainable progress
The programme is aimed at start-up teams with at least two founding members who are based in Switzerland and whose solution contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Applications are now open. The deadline is 25 July 2025 and selection decisions will be communicated by 5 September at the latest. Starting on 1 October 2025, the programme will run until April 2026.
Further information and the application form are available on the RUNWAY Startup Incubator website.
