Startup Stories: Three founders provide deep insights

Another edition of «Startup Stories – Meet the Founders» took place at Technopark Winterthur on Wednesday, 26 November. Together with the RUNWAY Startup Incubator, the focus was on three dedicated founders who spoke openly about their personal experiences, challenges and milestones.

Last week, Technopark Winterthur once again provided the stage for inspiring start-up stories. At Startup Stories, interested guests met three RUNWAY founders who spoke candidly about what it really means to build a company. The mixture of energy, honesty and curiosity characterised an evening full of exciting insights into the reality of everyday start-up life.

Three founders, three paths – and many valuable insights

Paraglider pilot Nicolas Huber from InnoThunder GmbH showed how personal interest can lead to the creation of a technology-driven safety solution. His vision is clear: data-based systems could prevent up to 70 percent of paragliding accidents. His story illustrates how effective it is when passion and technical expertise come together.

Kevin Willeit, co-founder of Findmee, also provided exciting insights into his career. What once began as a small hardware experiment has developed into a serious construction tech solution that is already being used by several companies.

The third founder of the evening, Kyriakos Chondrogiannis from Builtstop, impressively demonstrated how scientific research can be transformed into market-ready innovations. His work in the field of earthquake engineering demonstrates the potential of applied research – especially when it addresses specific challenges of safety and resilience in the real world.

Impulses from Technopark Winterthur

As host, Technopark Winterthur was particularly keen to offer founders not only a stage, but also guidance in the innovation ecosystem. TPW Managing Director Stève Mérillat gave participants an insight into Technopark Winterthur’s offerings, support programmes and community activities. He highlighted how start-ups are supported and linked up here, giving them space for sustainable growth.

An evening by young companies for young companies

The evening highlighted how valuable open insights into the everyday life of young companies are. Close cooperation with the RUNWAY Startup Incubator created an atmosphere of exchange, progress and new perspectives. Events such as Startup Stories thus strengthen the innovative power of the entire community. The next edition of Startup Stories is already being planned – and will once again show how diverse and dynamic Winterthur is as a location for innovation.
