TPW startup Cyltronic seeks new capital

Cyltronic AG is seeking fresh capital of CHF 3 million for further expansion of the company. The investments are intended to expand the market in Europe.

Cyltronic has already successfully completed two financing rounds and was able to acquire capital of CHF 1.2 million in the last one. Now the Technopark startup is launching a third round of capital increases, according to a media release. The fresh capital will be used to expand the dealer network in France, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, in addition to the DACH region and Italy.onic has already successfully completed two financing rounds and was able to acquire capital of CHF 1.2 million in the last one. Now the Technopark startup is launching a third round of capital increases, according to a media release. The fresh capital will be used to expand the dealer network in France, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, in addition to the DACH region and Italy.

The company, which focuses on drive technologies, has already won over end customers such as Migros, Coop, STIHL and Ricola as well as machine manufacturers Rychiger, FlexLink and Mikron with its all-in-one cylinder. Most recently, it also succeeded in winning over carmakers BMW and Audi. Both are so enthusiastic that they are now “testing several areas of application at once,” Cyltronic CEO Jeremias Wehrli is quoted as saying. In their production lines, Cyltronic actuators are to be used “as a gripper or additional axis on a robot, as an automated door on a machine, or as a replacement for cylinders currently driven by compressed air.”

The Cyltronic cylinder, unique in the world, is said to enable industrial companies to switch from “inefficient and expensive” compressed air cylinders to electric, more efficient and more precise drive technology. The “simple and direct operability” and low installation cost are said to save 90 percent energy in production plants. The Cyltronic cylinders reportedly cost about 66 percent as much to purchase as conventional hydraulic cylinders.

Cyltronic AG has been located at TECHNOPARK Winterthur since the company was founded. Initially promoted as a small team in the Runway-Incubator, the company soon needed more space and today already employs a dozen people.

The TPW team wishes Cyltronic much success in raising capital and the associated market expansion.
