Young Entrepreneur of the Year: WeNurse AG Co-CEO Alessia Schrepfer honoured

The Swiss Economic Forum (SEF) has honoured the winners of the SEF.WomenAward 2024. Alessia Schrepfer from WeNurse AG won the prize for Young Female Entrepreneur of the Year.

The Swiss Economic Forum presented this year’s SEF.WomenAward at The Circle in Zurich on International Women’s Day. This award has three objectives: to increase the visibility of businesswomen among the general public, to create role models for the next generation and to consolidate a forward-looking platform for women in business.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 is Alessia Schrepfer. In October 2022, she founded WeNurse AG in Kradolf-Schönenberg, the first employee-owned freelance pool in the healthcare sector. WeNurse stands for a better future in nursing and the preservation of quality in the healthcare sector. According to the SEF’s press release, she is being rewarded for her courage in standing up for the future of women in the nursing profession. The startup is part of the RUNWAY Incubator at Technopark Winterthur.

Sandra Banholzer was honoured as Entrepreneur/CEO of the Year 2024. As the first CEO who is not a member of the owner family, she has been managing the traditional Kreuzlingen-based company Rausch AG, which is primarily known for its hair and scalp care products, for two years. One of the things that impressed the jury was her ability to guide the company through the necessary cultural change with empathy and enthusiasm, while leading her team as equals.

The jury chose top manager Barbara Kux, who was also the first woman on the Siemens Executive Board, as the 2024 Honorary Award winner. “She is passionately committed to sustainability, corporate management, diversity and Switzerland as a business location,” said the jury. To this day, she uses her experience as a lecturer and honorary advisory board member for management development. ce/mm
