The ZHAW School of Engineering and QuantumBasel are joining forces to achieve new breakthroughs in quantum machine learning research. QuantumBasel is a competence centre for quantum computing and AI. In future, the collaboration is intended to facilitate various research projects for institutes and students.
The ZHAW School of Engineering and the AI and Quantum Competence Centre QuantumBasel are collaborating to advance quantum machine learning research. According to the centre, the aim is to simplify and broaden the accessibility of the technology. For example, the ZHAW School of Engineering will be able to contribute a great deal to anomaly detection and natural language processing, as QuantumBasel stated in its press release. Last year, the ZHAW, among others, presented the potential of quantum computing at our Innovation Kick.
QuantumBasel and uptownBasel
QuantumBasel is celebrating its first anniversary this year. The Quantum Hub is based at the uptownBasel site in Arlesheim and is part of its international competence centre for Industry 4.0. On the site, which covers 70,000 square metres, the first building was inaugurated. uptownBasel will serve as an international network in the future and enable further pioneering collaborations.
