ZKB Pioneer Award Technopark 2025: 13 finalists have been selected – including 2 TPW start-ups

The ZKB Pioneer Award Technopark 2025 has announced its 13 finalists, including the two TPW start-ups irmos technologies AG and Borobotics AG. In addition to CHF 100,000 in prize money, the winning start-ups can also expect valuable visibility in the Swiss deep tech scene. A winner will be announced on 20 May 2025, while the audience will also be able to vote for their favourite with a special prize.

The tension is rising: The prestigious ZKB Pioneer Award Technopark 2025 has announced its 13 finalists – and two promising TPW start-ups are among them! irmos technologies AG and Borobotics AG have made it into the top 13 and are therefore in the spotlight of the prestigious deep-tech competition.

A record year for innovation
With 54 applications, this year’s selection process was more competitive than ever before, as the RUNWAY Startup Incubator writes on LinkedIn. The prize, awarded by Zürcher Kantonalbank in collaboration with TECHNOPARK® Zurich, honours groundbreaking technologies that are about to enter the market. The winners can expect not only prize money of CHF 100,000, but also valuable visibility and recognition in the innovation landscape.

TPW start-ups on the road to success
Particularly pleasing: two startups from the RUNWAY Startup Incubator environment have been successful. irmos technologies AG develops highly innovative solutions for the structural monitoring of buildings in order to detect damage at an early stage and thus promote safety and sustainability in the construction industry. Borobotics AG, another TPW startup, is revolutionising geothermal energy with robotic technologies and bringing it to city centres with limited space.

The 2025 finalists at a glance
In addition to irmos technologies AG and Borobotics AG, the following start-ups have made it to the final round:

  • Annaida Technologies
  • apheros
  • BreezeLabs
  • BTRY
  • Ex Nunc Intelligence
  • IMAI MedTech
  • K2 Photonics
  • LatticeFlow AI
  • Nanoflex Robotics
  • Optiml
  • Yuon Control AG

These companies stand for outstanding innovation and technological excellence and set new standards in their industries.

The grand finale on 20 May 2025
On 20 May 2025, it will be decided who will take home the coveted award. The three best startups will present their ideas on stage at Technopark Zurich before the winner is announced. The audience can also vote for their personal favourite and award a startup with a special prize of CHF 2,500.
