In 2026, the Swiss W.A. de Vigier Foundation will once again be sending a strong signal in support of entrepreneurship and innovation. As part of its prestigious award, up to five promising start-ups will each receive CHF 120,000. Applications can be submitted until 5 January 2026.
The W.A. de Vigier Award is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious start-up awards. Since its launch in 1987, the foundation has supported 160 young companies and awarded a total of 15.6 million Swiss francs in prize money. The aim is to provide targeted support to founders during a crucial growth phase.
Multi-stage selection process focused on CEOs
The path to the award is demanding and carefully designed: from several hundred applications, the jury first selects 50 start-ups to present their business ideas on Selection Day. In the next step, 15 companies are selected whose CEOs demonstrate their strategies, visions and personalities in in-depth interviews.
One key criterion is that CEOs must apply personally and go through the entire selection process themselves. At the end of this multi-stage process, ten finalists will be selected.
The award ceremony will take place in summer 2026. Up to five winning teams will be selected, each of which will receive an award worth CHF 120,000.
