In 2025, the Swiss W.A. de Vigier Foundation will once again be awarding its prestigious prize, which supports young and innovative start-ups. Up to five start-ups have the chance to win CHF 100,000 in prize money each. Applications can be submitted until 6 January 2025.
The W.A. de Vigier Award is one of the most prestigious awards for start-ups in Switzerland and has been presented since 1987. In its history, 145 up-and-coming companies have already received support totalling CHF 14.3 million.
An exciting selection process
The winners are selected in several stages: The foundation’s jury first selects 50 start-ups from hundreds of applications to present their projects on Selection Day. Afterwards, the group is reduced to 15 companies. These 15 CEOs undergo a detailed interview process and present their visions to the Foundation Board. It is crucial that the CEOs of the companies apply in person and go through the entire process. This ultimately results in the ten finalists at the end of the process.
The award ceremony will take place in summer 2025, where up to five winners will be chosen. Each award is endowed with CHF 100,000.
